"The Beer Garden" circa 1939 - the original building burned down, only to be rebuilt in the same location in Boyne Falls, MI

Why The Whi-Ski Inn???

Well, first - It is pronounced Whiskey, or Whisky if you are Canadian.... It is a fusion of whom we are. This bar and location has certainly stood the test of time.  It was originally built in the 1930's and named "The Beer Garden".  It was a place for loggers and farmers to relax and unwind after a hard day at work.  Through the years, the bar has had a few owners and a few name changes, one of the longest was the SKI INN, which is proudly branded in neon and hanging in the bar today. If you haven't noticed, we are located at the bottom of one of the best ski resorts in the Midwest, and a long line of skiers have joined us and knocked back a few after enjoying the slopes.

And... our aim is to become one of the best Whiskey Bars in Northern Michigan. The bourbon craze is on, and we are happy to be part of it! Stocking nearly 50 top-shelf bourbons, we'd love you to come in and see what it's all about... And lastly, we embrace our Polish roots, and the roots of our community. A little play on words, maybe brilliant marketing, we will have to see!

That is why we are The Whi-Ski Inn!
